The back strap has the function to wrap the ankle in a delicate way and,
thanks to an adjustable metal buckle which is adjustable individually, give you a stable and secure support.
Kumba is adaptable to your foot thanks also thanks to a second strap which is on the back of the foot.
This second strap can be adjusted tranks to a buckle, too. 
The stable support of your foot is also guaranteed by the crossed strap over the big toe,
which is fixed directly to the shoe upper.
The shoe upper is made of leather, extremely resistant and of excellent quality.
The lower side is covered with non-woven fabric: pleasant to the touch and extremly soft.

The footbed of  Kumba is the classical one anatomically designed by Birkenstock, but with something more!
This model has indeed a soft footbed. 
The soft footbed has an integrated latex foam cushion. So it offers excellent comfort from day one.
The insole is mafe of suede which gives to your feet an excellent comfort while walking.
The very light EVA plastic sole has some excellent cushioning properties.
This is particularly important as it allows you to protect your joints and gives you an optimal comfort while walking even on hard surfaces.
